Anonymous Poem

She doesn’t cry anymoreShe only looks coldly and goes about her jobBurdened now with one more weightWhen will it stop? Will it ever stop? Why can’t it just go away?

He doesn’t cry eitherCalloused by the sins he has allowed to remain for yearsHe tries to bring an end,But it always starts againWhen will it stop? Will it ever stop? Why can’t it just go away?

He cries every timeHis heart is broken over and over againThe sins he bore, would crush all othersHe is the only one that can truly know the pain that this brings.Lord Jesus, you know where the end is and you can make it stop,Lord you paid my debt, why must she suffer more?Because that is what happens when sin enters the world.

We are not alone,We each have a chance to bring death and bring life.It is not in some self-involved fear where our sins appearBut they happen in the context of this lifeLife that is not ours alone but belongs to those whom we love

So I will live my lifeNot as I have done, but as only God can make right. My face is set, there is a prizeThe journey is high and hard to climbBut I am not alone, neither now nor have I ever been
